Procedure Details

Patient operated secondary revisional rhinoplasty or nose surgery in Bogota, Colombia by Dr. Paulo Andres Escobar, Facial Plastic Surgeon. The patient had previously undergone two nose jobs with another surgeon to obtain as a result an unnatural result in addition to functional problems.

a poor result after rhinoplasty by open approach (scar on the columella) is observed on preoperative imaging. It is also notorious excessive rotation of the nasal tip (very snub nose) which makes the nose look disproportionate to the rest of the face. Note also the shape of the nasal tip which produced an alteration in the patient's breathing. Likewise the nasal hump presenting the patient was due to grafting olecranon (elbow bone) than the previous surgeon had placed on the back or bridge to give up to the nose.

After precise planning, surgery was performed by closed approach also avoiding the placement of nasal packing. With the technique performed by Dr. Escobar both the nasal tip and the back they were reconstructed using auricular cartilage of the patient herself. The more natural shape and position of the nasal tip is made success in improving the breathing of the patient. The bone graft elbow that had the patient on the nasal dorsum or nasal bridge was removed.

In the images before and after the event a significant improvement is observed in the profile view correct the alterations produced by the above process. Specifically headset use to strengthen cartilage cartilaginous structure of the tip improving not only the aesthetic but also functional.
