IS IT MORE DIFFICULT THAN A NORMAL RHINOPLASTY?

A revision rhinoplasty is technically more complicated; however, as a specialist in revision rhinoplasty, Dr. Escobar can treat your case in Bogotá, Colombia, offering to you an improvement of your case.

Logically, these types of interventions tend to require more surgical time, and therefore their costs are higher.

WHAT OPTIONS CAN DR. ESCOBAR OFFER ME?

There are several techniques to solve a badly operated nose or botched nose job. During the first consultation in his office in Bogota, Colombia, Dr. Escobar will perform a meticulous diagnosis of your case, asking you about your surgical history and studying your nasal function with several specific tests. Based on an exploration, he will recommend one of the different techniques that he performs to solve these cases.

In some cases it is simply necessary to finish the surgery that was not adequately performed at the time. In these cases the difficulty is somewhat less, being that there is not a great alteration of the bone of cartilaginous structures.

Other times, the defects of the functional and structural frame of the nose forces the use of cartilage grafts of the patient's own cartilage. Dr. Escobar prefers to obtain grafts from the ear cartilage instead of the rib cartilage, septum cartilage or bone grafts.

Dr. Escobar performs its own revision rhinoplasty techniques in these cases that are an excellent option for the total correction of these cases with bad prior results.

WHAT IS THE RECOVERY OF A SECONDARY RHINOPLASTY LIKE?

The recovery of a secondary rhinoplasty is almost as good as that of a primary rhinoplasty. After the surgery, Dr. Escobar will perform a very close follow up of your case  in his office in Bogota, Colombia, to avoid complications. As a patient, you must also follow Dr. Escobar's orders thoroughly.

In around 2 weeks you will be able to get back to your usual social and working life, and the results will become more defined little by little. Approximately one year after the surgery, the swelling will have completely disappeared. During all this time, the follow-ups with Dr. Escobar will be frequent.
